Karen Elzinga is deeply inspired by the ocean and it's surrounding and these are consistent depictions within her work. Karen see's the ocean underneath as a wealth of intricacies, colours and tones. Her underwater paintings often depict the exploration of the corals, flowers and plant life by scuba divers showcasing the curious nature of man with ocean life.

Karen has a distantly unique style and collectors can instantly recognize a karen Elzinga original painting. Karen's work is not in abundance due to the length time each individual piece takes to create often taking months to complete due to their intricate nature.

Karen's style has been built over 30 years of painting experience, the current style of this work is to paint, etch back the colour for a more rustic finish, add line and circular markings, and than varnish with 3-4 coats of high gloss varnish for a modern finish.
